BZA - Yearly meetings
Six Committee meetings have been held on a regular basis to make all of this happen. Our focus this year was on finding ways & means on converting part of the Aramgarh land into commercial use. However due to various regulations, little progress has been made in this matter

Aramgarh News
CMs have taken frequent rounds of the Aramgarh. The Aramgarh was cleaned up in April and October 2008. As also, all the existing graves were refurbished, with a new gravestone installed for the Late Mrs. Villoo Marolia. Thanks to TS who has taken a lot of effort & trouble in this matter
A sub committee comprising of experts was formed under Hon VP Mr Tehmten Sherdiwala, and we expresses our sincere thanks to Mr. Cyrus Vesuwalla and Mr. Cyrus Godha for providing their expertise and time for the construction of a new wall for the Aramgarh. We appreciate their support and assistance.
The sub Committee prepared detailed tender documents to obtain quotes. Prerequisite legal documents (land survey certificate & letter from Ministry of Social Development) required for obtaining permission from Central Area Municipality for rebuilding the boundary wall has been obtained. By the time these formalities were over, the prices of building materials shot up significantly and hence it was decided to wait till prices are come down within our means.

New Developments
The BZA website, a first for our Association, was created at the start of our tenure. It has now been renewed and updated, with the kind assistance of
Ex–Treasurer Burzin Bharucha, to who we are sincerely grateful. To be updated further, it will be handed over to the next Committee.

Donations
A donation of BD 101.000 was made on behalf of BZA to Bahrain Red Crescent Society.
As you are aware, we had received a donation of BD 8,000.000 through H.E. Shaikh Abdulla bin Hamad Al Khalifa, thanks to the splendid efforts of Member Aspandiar Sarkari. This had also necessitated an external audit, which was carried out by PKF Consultants.
Besides the annual voluntary donations, we had also received generous donations from Rayomand Palkhiwala (BD 50), Yazdi Readymoney (BD 50), Tehmten Sherdiwalla (BD 101) and Nozer Mistry (BD 251), which have helped us to maintain and refurbish the graves within our Aramgarh.
We thank members Percy & Manijeh Mistry for arranging for UTI to sponsor & donate BD 75.000 to BZA at today’s function. This is a “gift” to the new committee, since it will feature in our 2009 accounts.

Our current treasury
Thanks to such donations, and also the fund raiser held on our Golden Jubilee in 2006, our coffers have grown from approx BD 6,000 to approx BD 16,000 in the past three years.
